Longmont residents – way to go! We continue to do better year over year in our efforts to send less to the landfill. Longmont’s residential recycling rate ranks #5 in CO – not too shabby. Let’s keep climbing – every little bit helps! ♻️👏🗻

Our beautiful state of Colorado continues to be one of the most wasteful in the country. In 2018, we created a record 9,307,000 tons of waste while our recycling rate flat-lined at just 12%, which puts us far behind the national average of 35% recycling. This makes us so happy and so we wanted to share the news with you all. Longmont Humane Society would also like to send a thank you out to our friends at Old Dogs New Digs for helping to spread the word about Maisy and her fellow adoptable, older dogs! Yay!
